Operator and scope
This policy applies to OuterNav (outernav.com), maintained by the site owner. Contact contact@outernav.com with privacy questions.
The site has no registration, login or online checkout. You can read articles and use the directory without providing your name, email address or phone number. If you email us, you provide your email address, message and any attachments. Please do not send passwords, payment details or unnecessary sensitive information.
Access and site operation
Your browser sends technical information such as your IP address, browser information, access time, requested URL and referring page to the hosting service. The hosting service may process it to deliver pages, secure the site and troubleshoot errors. Directory search terms are filtered in your browser and are not actively sent to our server.
Cookies and local storage
Our search and navigation features do not set cookies. Browser storage may remember these settings:

Local storage and third-party cookies are different mechanisms. Clearing or disabling storage may reset preferences; articles and the directory remain accessible.
Google AdSense and advertising
This site is preparing an application for Google AdSense. Product promotion cards are affiliate placements. Once enabled, Google ads are supplied by the ad platform and labelled as advertising.
Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers to process ad requests, measure impressions and clicks, prevent invalid traffic and, where applicable with required consent, personalize ads. Google or third parties may place and read cookies in your browser. Advertising may use information about previous visits to this or other websites.

You can manage personalized ads through Google Ad Settings or manage participating providers through industry advertising choices. Disabling personalization does not remove all ads and does not replace your site consent choices.
For the EEA, UK, Switzerland and other applicable regions, consent messages should collect choices required by local rules once advertising is enabled. When Google's published consent message and API are available, a Privacy and cookie settings link lets you reopen the message and change your choices. If unavailable, you can clear site data or manage Google preferences through the links above; this does not guarantee deletion of all third-party records.
Analytics
Google Analytics and Plausible are not currently configured. The hosting service may maintain operational logs. We will update this policy before introducing additional analytics to identify the service, purposes and applicable consent controls.
External sites and affiliate links
External websites have their own privacy policies. Links labelled Affiliate link may pass through Impact, pCloud, Gamma or Proton referral domains. Referral services and merchants may use cookies or other attribution methods to record the source of a purchase and calculate commissions. We do not add a separate affiliate-click tracking script.
Email, sharing and retention
Emails are used to answer feedback, correction and partnership requests; they are not published as public content. Email providers process transmission and storage, while hosting and advertising providers handle data under their own roles and policies. We do not sell your email address or message content.
We keep correspondence as needed to respond, maintain records and handle disputes. Service providers set their own retention periods for logs, advertising data and cookies. Contact us to ask about or request deletion of emails we hold; we will consider technical capabilities and records we must retain. Requests about third-party records should go to the relevant provider.
Children and your choices
This site is not designed specifically for children and does not actively request children's personal information. Contact us if you believe correspondence contains a child's personal information.
You can decline applicable non-essential storage, clear site data, change advertising preferences or ask us about data handling. Articles and the directory do not require consent to personalized advertising.

We update the date above when this policy changes. Material changes to data use will be explained on the relevant pages.
